Small laser engraving machine FAQ summary

What materials can be engraved by small laser engraving machine?

Most non-metal materials can be engraved, such as: cardboard/wood/bamboo/rubber board/leather/fabric/acrylic/plastic, etc., while also leaving traces on/anodized metal/painted metal.

Will laser engraving damage the working platform?

When engraving thin objects (e.g. paper), the laser may penetrate the object and leave marks on the working platform. It is recommended to pad underneath the engraved object with an object that the laser cannot penetrate, such as: stainless steel plate, aluminum plate, etc.

Why is there a big difference between the same material, but different color materials using the same gcode file?

Different colors of materials have different optical properties, and the absorption and reflection of laser energy are different. It is recommended to set different power and speed in CrealityLaser software for the same material and different color objects.

What should I do if the engraving is incomplete?

First of all, make sure that the object to be engraved is flat and has been installed with the user manual operation method to focus properly; add a fan to blow away the smoke generated by engraving during the engraving process, the smoke will block the laser and affect the laser intensity.

There is black ash on the surface after engraving, how to deal with it?

Choose the appropriate power and speed for engraving, it will not produce dust. If there is dust you can use tape to gently stick off the dust generated on the surface.

How to focus the small laser engraving machine?

Take CV-01 as an example: put on the goggles, after the machine previews the processing area, put the focusing paper on top of the material, while being below the laser module, and adjust the laser focus by adjusting the knob on the laser head (as shown below). When the light hits the focus paper at the smallest point, that is, the adjustment is complete, you can remove the focus paper.

What if the engraving is incomplete?

First of all, ensure that the object to be engraved is flat and has been installed user manual operation method of normal focus; increase the fan to blow away the smoke generated by engraving during the engraving process, smoke will block the laser, affecting the laser intensity.

How to increase the engraving speed?

Grayscale mode carving speed is the slowest, the best carving effect, the pursuit of carving speed, try not to choose grayscale mode, it is recommended to choose black and white or contour mode.
