On May 4, it was reported that U.S.-based 3D printing service provider Slant 3D raised $1.5 million in a Series A funding round. The funds will be used to develop its on-demand manufacturing platform “Teleport” and to build additional 3D printing farms.
Currently, Slant 3D operates around 3,000 3D printers, making it the largest 3D printing farm in the United States. Through the Teleport platform, users can connect their e-commerce stores directly to Slant 3D’s factory. Once an order is placed, the system automatically prints the product and ships it directly to the customer, enabling true on-demand production.
