Reportedly, Wang Zhiyu, former head of Anker’s 3D printing division, has left the company to launch a new venture, continuing his path in the 3D printing industry. His team is currently seeking to raise ¥20 million in external funding, aiming to reach ¥20 million in revenue by 2025 and ¥100 million the following year.
Insiders reveal that Wang’s startup has nearly 30 members—composed entirely of former Anker employees—and comes with established overseas distribution resources. Their first product is expected to deliver notable advantages, including 2–4x faster printing speeds and 0.1mm precision, compared to Bambu Lab’s latest dual-nozzle color printer, the H2D. It features a dual-extrusion setup with the option to upgrade to four nozzles.
During his time at Anker, Wang held a senior leadership position (“Yang Meng-2”). With a background in mechanical design, he previously worked at SANY Heavy Industry and Huawei, and brings over a decade of R&D experience in the mobile device sector. Prior to joining Anker, he also spent more than six months in Creality’s R&D department.
In April 2022, Wang led the development of Anker’s first consumer-grade 3D printer, the AnkerMake M5. At launch, it stood out for its impressive speed—up to five times faster (250mm/s) than most desktop printers on the market.

The M5’s performance helped it make waves on Kickstarter, where it raised a remarkable $8.88 million—surpassing even the crowdfunding campaign of Bambu Lab’s X1, which launched later that same year.
At its peak, Anker’s 3D printing team had around 100 members. After Wang’s departure, those who remained continued to work on printer-related projects within Anker. Meanwhile, AnkerMake has been rebranded as eufyMake and integrated into the eufy smart home ecosystem.
As Wang starts this new chapter, the industry watches closely. What comes next? Stay tuned.
