The era of cheap 3D printing appears to have come to an abrupt end in the United States.

A wave of newly imposed tariffs is rapidly driving up costs, with duties on Chinese-made goods now reaching a record-high 145%. This includes popular 3D printers from brands like Bambu Lab, Creality, Elegoo, and Anycubic.

Bambu Lab’s latest 3D printer, the H2D, launched on March 25. The dual-color, non-laser printer initially started at $1,899. It’s now listed at $2,399—a 23% increase. Meanwhile, the 40-watt laser printer we reviewed last month is now priced at $4,399, which is $500 to $900 higher than expected, a 20% jump.

Tracking 3D printer price hikes isn’t easy. Some Chinese manufacturers haven’t raised their prices yet, but their products are also out of stock, presenting another challenge for 3D printing enthusiasts and business owners. The Elegoo Centauri Carbon is one to watch in this category, with a launch price still set at $299. However, it’s currently listed as “pre-order,” with availability expected by the end of July.

The Creality K2 Plus Combo we reviewed in January is still holding its original price of $1,499, with listings indicating shipment from U.S. warehouses. Tariffs apply only at the time of shipping. While no one wanted to go on the record, several company representatives at this year’s Rapid + TCT event told me they rushed inventory into U.S. warehouses before the tariffs took effect and are hoping to maintain lower prices for as long as possible.
