Shenzhen Maker Workshop Technology Co., Ltd.’s DIY brand xTool has announced the launch of its apparel printer on Kickstarter. The campaign reached its funding goal within just 1.5 hours, surpassing $1 million. Currently, xTool’s apparel printer has raised $4 million from over 699 backers. This response marks the brand’s successful entry into the white ink digital transfer (DTF) printing field.

Reimagining Apparel Printing
Market research shows that traditional DTF printing faces three major pain points: complex setup, limited fabric compatibility, and high maintenance requirements. “Our users love apparel printing but are disappointed with existing options,” said Jasen Wang, founder and CEO of xTool. “With the xTool apparel printer, anyone can create custom clothing instantly, just like printing documents at home.” The printer solves these issues with one-click operation and is compatible with cotton, leather, polyester, and spandex, producing high-quality results on both dark and light fabrics. Its full lifecycle automatic maintenance eliminates the tedious nozzle cleaning required by traditional printers.
Cutting-Edge Technology for Precision Printing
“To achieve exceptional color accuracy, we’ve equipped it with industrial-grade printheads. The xTool apparel printer features Epson I1600 dual heads—typically used in high-end DTF printers costing over $10,000,” said Howie Zhu, Product Director at xTool. “Combined with a 16MP AI smart camera for auto calibration, this system ensures precision from the very first print.”
xTool’s Creative Space software enhances the experience by providing a platform for design optimization, image enhancement, and layout optimization, maximizing print quality while minimizing waste. This solution offers professional apparel customization services to businesses, fashion professionals, and DIY enthusiasts.

xTool has over 500,000 users who have customized more than 80 million creative projects and is now expanding into the apparel customization field, enabling individuals and businesses to easily create high-quality clothing. The xTool apparel printer will make its global debut on April 2nd at the Retail Technology Show in London (Booth Q58), giving attendees a hands-on experience. The official global launch event is scheduled for April 11th, when it will be available for purchase worldwide at xTool.com.
