In April 2025, Sicnova, a leading 3D technology provider in Spain, officially launched the Center for Special Applications and Process Certification in Military and Defense (CEDAEC) — the country’s first facility dedicated to advanced manufacturing and certification of defense components. The center was inaugurated on April 4 within Novaindef, a company renowned for its capabilities in producing critical defense parts.

María Amparo Valcarce García, Spain’s Secretary of State for Defense, presided over the opening ceremony and expressed strong support for this innovative project. Lieutenant General Miguel Ivorra commented, “I believe in the vision and capabilities of this emerging technology. It will revolutionize advanced manufacturing and enhance the strategic autonomy needed by our defense sector.”
Key Functions of CEDAEC
Established through a collaboration between Sicnova Solutions and the Spanish Ministry of Defense, CEDAEC is operated by Novaindef, a Sicnova subsidiary. The center is equipped with a wide array of cutting-edge technologies, including metal and polymer 3D printers, next-generation machining centers, reverse engineering systems, post-processing tools, and high-precision inspection equipment.
One of its key assets is Europe’s most advanced tomography scanner, used for inspecting and certifying military components to ensure the highest standards of quality and durability.
Ángel Llavero, CEO of Sicnova, emphasized: “By integrating advanced technologies such as 3D printing and component certification, we can overcome the limitations of traditional manufacturing and address strategic challenges in complex environments.”
